Concepts and Processes: For this piece a photo of Josh Dun (the drummer in the band Twenty One Pilots) was used. The focus was on capturing an accurate likeness while carefully observing the effects of light and shadow across the face, hair, and clothing.

Work 3 - Hand Study

Concepts and Processes: In this study, I used multiple reference photos of my hands in different poses to explore their anatomy, structure, and movement. By carefully observing proportion, form, and the interaction of light and shadow, I accurately drew the complex shapes, contours, and subtle details of the hand.

Concepts and Processes: In this study I took multiple photos of my feet from multiple perspectives. By carefully observing proportion, form, and subtle variations in light and shadow, I accurately represented the complex shapes, contours, and textures of the foot.

Work 5 - Asaro's Head Study

Concepts and Processes: This Asaro head study was created to help practice the human face. Specifically facial planes, anatomy, and lighting. This was achieved by carefully observing the geometric shapes in the model.

Work 6 - Curtain Drawing

Concept and Processes: This image was created by studying draped fabric to observe the form and lighting. The layers seen, were gradually built through careful shading and blending. The focus was on smooth tonal transitions, strong contrast, and the subtle textures formed by the folds in the fabric.
